About Pointe d’Esny

Mauritius offers consistent wind and wave conditions all year round, making it a reliable destination for surfers and water sports enthusiasts. The island is also a hotspot for freediving, with crystal-clear waters, vibrant reefs, and dramatic drop-offs adding to its allure.
Two main seasons shape the experience- summer and winter , each bringing its own unique character to the water.

Summer (November–April):
• Stronger, more powerful swells.
• Warmer water temperatures.
• There is a little more rain than in the winter season.

Winter (May–October):
• Consistent trade winds, perfect for wind sports.
• Ideal for surfers chasing bigger waves mor
• Cooler, more comfortable air and water temperatures.

Specifically in Pointe d’Esny, the wind is always weaker compared to other destinations like Le Morne or Bel Ombre, and the spot works well when the wind at the other locations is strong, around 20 knots or more.

No matter the season, Mauritius guarantees reliable conditions and a vibrant playground for your next adventure.

The diving season is all year round, but you can dive either in the north of the island, where there are many diving clubs, or in the west of the island, but both the winter and summer seasons are good.

For whales, the winter season is better.

    Shared transport services are available, typically requiring a slightly longer travel time due to possible stops along the way.

  • Car Rentals: Ideal for exploring the area and accessing various beaches and attractions. Rentals are available from local agencies and can be arranged through accommodations.​
