From Sayak Airport (IAO), Siargao’s closest airport, also known as Siargao Airport:

  • By Taxi: Approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. Tricycles are available outside the airport and are a common mode of transportation on the island. Prices can vary, so confirm the fare before departure.
  • By Shuttle Van: Approximately 30-45 minutes. Shuttle vans to General Luna are available at the airport and offer a shared ride with other passengers. Reservations can be made in advance or upon arrival.
  • By Rental Motorbike: Approximately 45 minutes. Motorbikes can be rented at the airport or in General Luna. It’s a good option if you’re comfortable driving and want flexibility during your stay.

Don’t confuse Siargao Airport (IAO) on Siargao Island with Surigao Airport (SUG) on the mainland—Siargao Airport is your direct gateway to the island, while Surigao Airport requires an additional ferry ride to reach Siargao.

  • Motorbike Rentals
    Renting a scooter is the most flexible way to explore Siargao. Rates range from ₱300 to ₱500 per day. Always wear a helmet and check for a valid license.
  • Tricycles (Tuk-tuk) & Habal-Habal (Motorcycle Taxis)
    Tricycles are great for short trips within General Luna (₱30–₱50 per person), while habal-habal (motorcycle taxis) are ideal for solo travelers heading to surf spots or remote areas.
