From Velana International Airport (MLE), in Malé, Maldives, to Ukulhas Island:

  • By Speedboat: Approximately 1.5 to 2 hours
    Speedboats operate directly from Malé to Ukulhas Island. Daily services are available, but it’s recommended to book in advance as times can vary.
  • By Public Ferry: Approximately 4 to 5 hours
    Public ferries are available, but they operate only a few times a week. This is a budget-friendly option, but check the schedule in advance as they may not operate daily.
  • By Domestic Flight + Speedboat: 20-minute flight + 30-minute speedboat transfer
    Take a domestic flight from Velana International Airport to the nearby airport on Rasdhoo Island, followed by a speedboat transfer to Ukulhas. This option is convenient but more expensive.

  • Walking
    The island is small (about 1 km long), making walking the easiest and most common way to get around. Most places can be reached within 10 minutes on foot.
  • Bicycle Rentals
    Some guesthouses provide bicycles for rent, offering a convenient way to explore the island at a relaxed pace.
  • Taxis & Shuttles
    There are no traditional taxis, but some guesthouses and local businesses offer shuttle services for excursions or transfers.
